The Pilgrimage to Fontcalda is held on the first Sunday in May. The day before the children of the village announce the event playing the bells in the streets and shouting: "a la Fontcalda, a la Fontcalda!" The day of the festival procession leaves the church at 7 am. Once we arrive to the "planes" there is a blessing and in the "Fonteta" some prayers are made. In the "Cap de Costa" the procession presents an offering to the Virgin and stops for breakfast. Blue scarves and flags announce the arrival of the procession to the sanctuary, located at 13 Km. of Gandesa. First the "salve" is singed and then the "goixos", finally the Mass is celebrated. Then the sardana is danced, then families and groups of friends meet for lunch. In the afternoon there is a prayer for the sick. At the end of the day the people in procession go to the town's the church where the Virgin is farewelled until next year.
