Templar origin building. The building was completely isolated from the rest with a defensive moat, now lost, which are evidenced now with the wooden path above the door. It has been used as various things, among we highlight the construction of the door of tithing in 1609. The gate was used to collect the tit to the population. The name prison comes motivated because on 18th April 1834 Gandesa was appointed Party chief of Judgement and as they had no cells, some of the already existing cells were enabled in the "Palau del Castellà".
